This was very well thought out and planned and has a really good way to keep you "turnin'" the pages. The only thing I wished could've been different was the ending. Mrs. Veal I wish to see you again sometime. Still SMASHING !!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

High Quality Fiction - Keeps you Guessing
Veal's Finding My Escape is an example of the supremely high quality young adult fiction available from self-published authors today. When I finished the book, I was still so intrigued I wanted to turn back to the first page and start reading again. There are many different twists in the novel and even when I was sure I knew what was coming, it turned out I was wrong. Veal created very likeable characters and pieced together their story in a way that keeps the reader engaged and wishing for more. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Very believable and thought-provoking with an extra benefit
I love a mystery which stays with me long after the read. Finding My Escape certainly fits the bill. After experiencing her parents' murder, Hannah moves in with her aunt in another state to hopefully recover from the traumatic experience, but there is something troubling Hannah. Something deeply hidden in her subconscious that begins to insert little clues in the fantastic dreams she's having. Her best longtime friend, Matt, recently relocated himself, is trying to understand Hannah. But then there's that hunky Josh who lives in Hannah's dreams...or does he? And that box...Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
As with most tales of intrigue, there are several suspicious characters but Veal weaves just enough of the story leaving that little thread at each chapter's end making the book really hard to put down. Edgy, but sprinkled throughout with such tender moments that this story offered an additional benefit of a sense of hope and healing.
I have to say that I was surprised by the reveal...it fit, but it gave me a lot of food for thought, opening up those nudging questions we all have about what is really real and what we really see. I like that. I can't wait for Fran Veal's follow-up to Finding My Escape.

Brilliant! An intriguing must-read!
One word I could only muster after reading Fran Veal's Finding My Escape, 'Brilliant!'. Reading this book was a whole new intriguing experience; it was like watching a young adult version of 'The Bourne Identity', only with added romance and puzzling twists. Plus, I loved how the cover art quite precisely goes along with the story inside. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
Overall, I thought this series (yes, it has a sequel!) deserve to be in someone's must-read list, including mine. The ending will definitely give you a complete surprise. I can't wait for the release and I so look forward to reading more of Fran Veal's books.
