For those lucky enough to'eve found their way to this book...
Finding Your Way Without A Map or Compass... is not just your basic survival guide which (if lucky enough) points one towards true North! This book is one of the best compilations of methods that everyone from primative man (and woman) have used to find their way in the wilds, to the most complicated forms used in the modern world! I've been a survival trainer for years, and was still happy to find things of use throughout this book. It's more than a manual, it's the key to unlock the common sense which lurks deep within us all, so that we to may find our way in the World! I found topics such as the Native American use of tree formations and cairns..., to the Aboriginal methods for crossing vast, shapless distances extremely usefull. As well as topics such as how Nomad warriors crossed the sand dunned waste lands were also of interest, esecially for those who might someday hike through areas such as these (the Continental Divide Trail for instance, or Mexico, even South America etc...). I beleive there is something in this interesting read for everyone to glean a little knowledge from..., and if all one learned from this book was how to travel in a straight line based on how the prevalant winds are blowing today..., than it was worth the money! Good luck in your travels!
