Where was this book 10 years ago?

I wish I knew about this book 10 years ago. I think I would be a much different person. It's never too late to start. I can relate to the author's delima and I needed a something that would give me time tested information in talking to people informally. I'd recommend it to anyone who does not know how to start up conservations. I know I always had a problem of not knowing what to ask or say to start a conservation.

A 1 star because you wouldn't even buy a book at five or below. The type is large, margins are large, and it's almost double spaced. Plus she repeats herself constantly. All the information could have been put on half to a quarter of the pages easily. Also, I couldn't believe she added the comic of her in the book makes her appear very arrogant like everyone is dying to talk to her. If you are looking for a book strictly for 'small talk', then I might rate it two stars and a 7/10. But, that is all the book offers and doesn't have anything about real social skills or conversation, just small talk 'which is basically just superfluous, artificial, static talk' Which can some times be interesting and a good skill to have in networking, but even then she really just gives you grounding. Had she not wasted so many pages already, she could have included what she's left out. In short: not recommended
