Great for Autistic language development
My three year old son has autism, and he just loves this book. He never puts it down. He loves to point at the colorful pictures and say the words. It has been great for his vocabulary and speech development.

Good picture book for young children from 3 months to 3 years.
I purchased this book for my 9 month old grandaughter and she enjoys the bright colors, the pictures of familiar objects and the tactile quality of the heavy pages which withstand an occasional good chew on the corners. Reading it with her encourages her to try to speak the name of the many illustrated objects.

Want to use this, but not cross device compatible yet.
If this book is not yet supported on Ipad and PC please state so in the product listing. I would not have purchased. I cannot yet use this for daughter with autism on Ipad or our PC because it is not 'yet supported on my device.' Sorry...I can't afford a nook color also. If you have an Ipad app. Make your e-book nook products cross device compatible like Kindle WhisperSync.

Great book!
Nice and large. Large illustrations. I thought it would be on the small side but it was twice the size I thought it would be. My son also likes to point and discuss the pictures. Some of the pictures are confusing because it says diaper and shows a baby in a diaper.

Wish I Bought It Months Ago
I have 22 month old twins and my son was slow in his speech development. When we purchased this book it was like a whole new world opened up to him. He brings the book to us (mother and I) at least 5 times a day and over the past month since we purchased it his vocabulary has surpassed his twin sister. This book has helped to give him the confidence in attempting new words even without the book.

Good book not okay for nook. . .
Really liked this as an actual book. Bright colors are fantastic. Baby responds well to the realistic images. However, I do not recommend as a nook book because the pictures crowd together on the screen, which is smaller than the book page. Trying to make the pictures bigger on the nook is akin to trying to fix font for Word Office 7.0 so that it is legible in Word Pad from a cut and paste document; lots of work for a frustrating result. Wish I could have seen a sample first as this one was really disappointing. . .

Son loved this, One of his favorites!
We bought this when our son was 15 months old. He's now 18 months old. This is one of his favorite books! He's always grabbing it and bringing it to us to read. The pictures are very bright and fun. He has learned about every word in the book. A great book! Highly recommend!

Good for working on language skills and catagorizing
This book is one to use and talk about, build language skill and cognition. I would like for the book to say the words as you touch them. However, this is a good book for parnet child interactions.

not a favorite
The book is fine. But a few of the words cannot be guessed easily based on the picture. My 23-month-old likes Priddy's big animal book but isn't very interested in this one.

This book is great for my 2 year old... We <3 it!!!
The book came within 3 days and was in wonderful condition when we got it. The vibrant colors in the pictures are a great way to keep my toddler engaged while she learns. I love the fact that it's kind of a large book as well because that way she can see the details of the pictures and this is really helpful in the "vehicles" section. She pretty much knew 85% of the pictures but we are learning the ones she doesn't. Great book, does what it's meant to do :)

Great book for beginning words
My 2 year old loves this book! He pulls it out and points to the pictures and either says what it is or asks "Dat mommy?" and then repeats what I say. He as learned so many new words and describes the pictures now. It's fun and interactive. We look at it every chance we get.

Starting to talk
When I sit down again with my granddaughter and re-read and interact with her in The First Hundred Words,I'll know more. My take on this book now is that it's brilliant, she "gets' it". She sees the object, says it and soon I hope will connect the letters to the word to the object,to her un derstanding. Good stuff!

I bought this book about a month ago for my younger cousin who's a toddler and I read it to him the day I bought it, two days later he was able to pronounce some of the words!

good for toddlers and babies
I have enjoyed reading this with my little grandson who seems to enjoy looking at the large photos. I think he likes the pictures of the babies the best. I used to read aloud with my own children, and it is great to continue this important tradition with my grandson. Storybooks are great, but at a very young age, simple pictures of everyday items and and young faces are what little people relate to in my opinion.
