I couldn't put this book down. Jane's memoirs during her time at Gound Zero and how her life unfolded while there and after were heartwarming and heartbreaking in the same breath. She told her story from so many angles ... as a nurse, as an Army wife, as a wife, mother and friend. It's a must read!!!!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. 9-11 and Everyday Heroes
What does it take to be a hero? Does being a volunteer Red Cross nurse who felt compelled to help at Ground Zero, automatically make one a hero? Or is there more to the story? Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
How about caring for a recovering elderly mother at home? Or having courage to repair strained relationships? As an Army wife, how hard is it to start a new home every few years and make it feel like one? Or to get up every day to go to work and face a boss who is a sexual harasser and a bully? Support a spouse through career, then serious illnesses? Does just showing up for life sometimes do it? As Jane's story unfolds, we find out.
A good read: interesting story, heartfelt, full of grace and hope.
