Fish Face Wins the Race
I found this easy reading chapter book was serious yet written in a non depressing way. The accessabilty to students for the book is that its design of the characters and their problems are similar to those that modern day children may face. The book allows the young reader to identify with complicated issues of making accusations and bearing proof against a popular person. As the character makes a new friend and deals with the issue of suspecting someone of theft she also deals with loosing a friend through the dissappointment of betrayal. I feel that this book could be useful as a launching for philosophical discussions and could be used when exploring social issues. The problems in the story are common yet new to young people and should be examined. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
