    Like it!

I read this book (hardcover) just recently. I loved it so much and had read it 2 other times before. It is a great story with a great setting and very descriptive words to assist you in imagining the setting in your head. It made me wish I lived on a floating island!!!

    Fun, enjoyable read

I liked this book. The beginning was a bit odd, and it took a while to get good, but it was definitely worth reading. The setting seemed appealing. It was given detail, but not mountains of exposition. The writing was done well. The story progressed smoothly, and the change in viewpoint was pulled off well. The characters were likeable enough, and they seemed believable for the most part.

My only real gripe was the beginning of Araene's part of the story. We get it, you live in a sexist society. No need to shove it down the reader's throat every other page. Thankfully, it got a lot less obnoxious later, but subtlety is generally a good thing.

Besides that, I don't have any real complaints. I would recommend this to anyone interested in unique fantasy.

    Surprisingly good

I thought it was going to be a childish romp in a random fantasy world, but as soon as I sat down to read it I didn't get up until it was done!

The characters were charming and easy to relate to, the plot intriguing with a few twists that I certainly didn't expect! Honestly a book that I would put money down for :D

I wish there had been more flying parts though :c

    Engrossing and addictive

Beautifully written with convincing magical characters who hold the reader without resorting to exaggerated starcrossed love tangles.

Learn about the kajuraihi. What is found at the carved door? Trei has a dream and so does his cousin Araene. Are their dreams fulfilled? What events occur in their lives that make them stronger? And how do they each handle the events? The details of the storyline allow the readers to visualize the happenings of this tale in their own imagination. Trei is a fascinating protagonist.
