Loved it!

I never thought that I would like this book. My Mom was actually the one that told me to read it and once I started readig I couldnt stop. The things that these kids go through are so unreal. Iam so gonna read the other books from this series. I just gotta know what happens to them. This is a must read!

Hideous Edge of Your Seat Read!

This books was eerily captivating. Once you start reading, you are constantly worrying about these characters. V.C. Andrews took a risk with this book because it talks about things most people avoid. She did an excellent job! Interesting read.

Uggh ick

This book started good,then it just got wierd. A whole book about siblings falling in love is not a good story.

Kinda creepy...

Incest isn't really my thing, but these books were really popular anyway. I guess it's well written and they don't go into too much detail, but just the suggestion of it is enough to creep me out! I wouldn't recommend this for younger audiences, but then again, I was in my early teens when I first read it so... I don't know. Read at your own risk I guess.

this book has really good story line, and keeps you interested :)
V.c. andrews is amazing (all of her original work, not that new person who does it lol). Would aslso recommend "Celeste" :)

Book club decided to read a trash novel for the summer...

which is how I came to read this again as an adult. I will admit that, although this was much better to read as a teenager, it was still a decent book to read. It's a quick easy read and good for the beach or poolside.

ThriLLinG aNd SuspenseFul

Oh my gosh! I loved this book so much! And I cried when there was beating by that evil grandmother! And I didnt want the mother to turn mean but she did anyways. Four beautiful innocent children were locked away in an upstairs room far away from society at their grandmother's house. Having to face many challenges such as their twins misunderstandment and their evil grandmother starvation and neglection from their mother. and the older children have no one to love but eachother! Please read this novel and all the others! :o)

This is what started it all!!!!!

I read this book when I was a sophmore in high school almost 20 years ago. It was recommended by my friend who said "you have to read this book". From what I remember it was about 4 children who are secretly locked away in an estate attic thanks to a selfish mother and twisted grandmother. After I read this book. I had to read the whole series afterwards. From what I remembered it was about this couple who had four kids (chris, cathy, carrie and last one I dont remember his name). Its the happy life until the father dies in a car accident, leaving the mother without any means of support. Turns out the mom came from a wealthy family(that the kids knew nothing about) and off to the estate to live happily.......so they think. No sooner did they get there, the kids are locked away in the attic where no one knows they exist. Days turns into months and then years. For Cathy, hatred turns into revenge. You have to read it to find out what happens. But I will tell you this much, their mother is a b@#ch and I am being "kind" because when she does to her own children is despicable.

You won't be able to put it down

Timeless classic that will suck you in.

After i had read this book i had to sit for a moment and think about what i just read, not because i didnt get it but i just couldnt believe what had happened. I enjoyed this book very much, i think i could read it over and over again. This is just an amazing book and its just plain outstanding!

Excellent read.

Excellent read. Classic. I wouldn't doubt that somewhere in the world there are demented people doing things like this to children. I felt their pain, sorrow, joy, happiness, and everything in between. Andrews did a great job in making you feel like you were right there in the attic with them. On to the next book.
