    No Impressed

Sarah Brightman's voice is very thin, stretched, and far too weak in this album. I was not impressed by the way she blended styles, nor the breathiness normally made beautiful in her other songs, yet left weak and unrefined on this CD. I normally love Sarah Brightman, especially when she sings with Andrea Bocelli, but this was not one of her better albums.

    The Best

The Best, And I mean the best. This is one of Sarah Brightman's first cds she made and by far the best. I love how she has all sorts of different songs for pop to opera to rock. My favorite song is ow can Heaven Love me. it is a really good song that is a mix of rock and oerpa put together. If you like sarah's music as much as I do I know you will love this cd as much as I do

    Amazing....for a RE-release!

I received this particular release of ''Fly'' as a Christmas gift in 1998. Brightman, whose new Luna CD WAS released in the US (but not this one), seemed to have for the first time sang in a whole bunch of different styles here, thus making it hard to determine the EXACT category under which it falls. Why it was never released in the US is beyond me, because it needs more attention here. But I have to complain about ''Time To Say Goodbye'' being here as track 1, but then that's because it was a tribute to Henri Maske, in the same way that ''A Question of Honour'' (the standout on the album) was the principal anthem for him when he took on Rocky Rocchigiani in earlier 1996. On the entire album, I don't care for ''How Can Heaven Love Me'' as is on track 5 here. I have this Fly 2-CD set (which you can only get if you attend Sarah's La Luna concert), which consists of the ORIGINAL 1995 version of ''Fly'' and previously unreleased material. The version of HCHLM that appears on THIS version (the one with the Bocelli duet) is the Video version, and it sucks compared to the original version that appears on the Fly 2-CD set and the ORIGINAL release of ''Fly'' without TTSG. The 1995 version won't be ANYWHERE found, so don't write asking me where you can get it, I can't help you.

    SARAH'S SPACE OPERA

''FLY'' is a fantastic recording. The mercurial & timeless Sarah Brightman produces a wondrous soundscape once again. I might add that ''TIME TO SAY GOODBYE'' was added to the recording to give new fans an idea of her contemporary classical sound. But it happens to be out-of-place in this space opera. Some of the tracks such as ''HOW CAN HEAVEN LOVE ME'' give the imagery of a (yet to be written) epic space opera/musical, this is an incredible duet. Another infectious tune would be ''GHOST IN THE MACHINERY'' & ''FLY''. Sarah Brightman is a solid recording artist running & conquering the gamut of many soundscapes. You must love her as a whole.
