    Rocking Rod Has Mellowed

    I beg to differ with a previous reviewer about this album. "Rocking Rod" is still rocking, albeit in a slightly mellow mood. I think it's admirable that he can still pour out the songs but has segued into the "classical pops." After all, the guy is now 65! Instead of trying to maintain the "teeny bopper" image, he can now relate to all ages. As well as the albums & music that brought Rod to stardom, I have all 5 of the "Great American Songbook" series. And I have to say, Volume 5 has soon become one of my favorites. I love the way he takes the old tunes & puts his own "spin" on them. This is a notable selection with wonderful musical arrangements. I adore his version of "I Get a Kick Out of You." Be sure to purchase the Deluxe Edition as it's well worth it. For a few more dollars, you'll receive a second CD with some more great music, including my personal favorite, "Bye Bye Blackbird." Both discs are first rate, ones you'll never tire of listening to.

    5 Stars ++++

    While in B & N recently I heard this CD playing and knew immediately it was Rod Stewart and fell in love with his voice all over again. Of course I had to buy the set and I highly recommend it to all. The beautiful music and his unique voice are a stunning combination. Thanks, Rod!!

    Whatever Happened To Rocking Rod?

    Another rehash of old songs made famous by other artists. A total waste of time and money. Whatever happened to rocking Rod Stewart? I wish he would stop selling out to the record companies and do some new ROCK music.
