FOREIGN INFLUENCE is a fast paced, thrill ride into the world of covert ops. Former Navy SEAL Scot Harvath is back, and in fine form. After a bus loaded with American college students is bombed in Rome, Harvath shifts into high gear. It's a horrific crime that can't go unanswered and Harvath is the man for the job. Clear across the world in Chicago, a second, less spectacular crime is committed--a seemingly random hit and run. The fuse is now ignited and the clock ticking. Harvath is no stranger to violent terrorism or the fanatical minds behind it, but Harvath can't know the depth of the evil in play.

In a brutal pursuit that will test his knowledge of justice and mercy, Harvath must also confront his own inner demons, and they're as dangerous as the people he's pursuing. FOREIGN INFLUENCE rocks the house with Thor's best effort yet! We would expect nothing less from the New York Times #1 bestselling author of THE LAST PATRIOT.

Cheers for Brad Thor!

If you read Foreign Influence as simply a good guy versus bad guy superhero novel, then it is moderately entertaining, especially if you have the power to suspend all rational belief and swallow whole such incidents as happen on p. 314, e.g. It's not enough here that the bad guys are bad, they are really sinister. Not only are they foreign, but terrorists. Wait a minute! IF that doesn't make them bad enough, they kidnap little kids, torture them and then put them into little caves to suffer alive. Not evil enough yet? Well, the auThor has one more surprise for you. "Homosexuality was so rampant among the jihadists that catching them in the act had stopped surprising (macho superhero)a long time ago." That's the last of that, though, as no jihadists are caught in that act in the rest of the book....As politics Foreign Influence rates much lower. We now have a group of influential men acting outside the scope of the government, yet stealing their funding through back channels of the Defense Department. They have thrown aside the Constitution and the Rule of Law and set themselves up to decide how to act against those they determine to be threats to the country. Unelected as they are, no matter, for the safety of the American people comes first. Carry their logic further out, and wouldn't we all be safer locked in concentration camps under the rule of benevolent dictators? No doubt these issues are being discussed on the forums at the author's website. True Americans distinguish shows like 24 and novels like this as entertainment, don't they? And, about that coupon...
