Despite owning a couple of Rose Pressey's other books, this is the first one I've read, and I was not disappointed. I was intrigued by the idea of a witch who due to having been born on Halloween, is subsequently named after that holiday by her mother in hopes that she will be a great and powerful witch. Unfortunately for Halloween, or Hallie as she prefers, she is the worse witch in her town, so much so that any time she attempts a spell it not only goes horribly wrong but she also manages to ruin the spells of other witches in the town. It isn't until Hallie inherits her great-aunts old manor, which she plans on turning into a bed and breakfast, and discovers a book of magic which vastly improves her spell casting, but that also makes Hallie the new ruler of the underworld. With the mysterious and welcome appearance of two handsome men Liam and Nicolas,) and the unwelcome appearance of a former ghost brought back to life by Hallie (Isabeau), Hallie finds herself trying to: determine just what the guys want with her, what it means to be ruler of the underworld, how to rid herself of the annoying Isabeau, and all while having to throw a party for the local coven.

Forever Charmed kept my interest throughout the entire book and had me trying to ascertain how it would all end. As it was, the book ended better than I had hoped and I am anxiously anticipating the next book in the series. I hope that the Halloween LaVeau series has a long and successful road ahead of it with many more stories to come.

3.5 stars. Fun and breezy, a cute quick read. There were a few times when I wanted to shake Hallie (she tended to wait until she was way over her head before she asked for help), and I wasn't super fond of the love interest (there was a bit of a love triangle, and, as always, I was rooting for the guy that wasn't picked). Overall, though, I enjoyed the book.

    Pre-Teen novel

The passionate seens weren't all they could have been and the people weren't as developed as maybe they should have been but I guess if this were a 7 - 10 yr old reading this novel it would have been very sweet.

    Interesting Concept, Poor Execution

Hallie sorta questions oddities throughout the story, but never truly confronts them until there is no other way to move the plot forward. Her friend is a broken record of ridiculous fears and paranoia. Several plot holes emerged and some questions are asked, but never answered throughout the book. I could not identify with Hallie or believe her to be any sort of heroine. I loved the idea behind the book, but would like to see the series revamped with characters properly flushed out. I will not read the second book in this series.
