I listened to the audiobook of this story and I really enjoyed it. Ms. Rosenfeld’s writing is so poetic and her descriptions transport you into the lives of Marly and Grace as if you were there with them. The hardships these two go through in a span of a lifetime, was tragic and yet, it was destiny.

Grace and Marly were best friends, but a horrible accident at the age of fifteen scars Grace for life and she hasn’t seen her friend since that fateful day. Years later, Marly’s grandmother dies and it brings these two together once more. Both are scarred in irreparable ways from that fateful day. Grace takes this chance to move away from Northern California where she lived with her hoarder mother, to move in with Marlie in Las Vegas once she discovers that, by accident, she can heal people. But why can’t she heal herself? The road is rough with Marly, whose secrets run deep and burn like fire as wounds reopen and heal while they journey to find themselves again.

The audiobook was fantastic. Narrated by Amanda Deibert, her voice was almost hypnotic and made the story turn vividly real for me. I enjoyed the hours of listening to her voice as she spoke Rosenfeld’s lyrical words and brought the emotional turmoil suffered by the two main characters to life as they fought to find redemption in the depths of their broken hearts. Loved it.

SOUL STIRRING. This book has it all: a main character that drew me in and captured by empathy, a complex supporting cast, intriguing plot, interesting settings, mystery, romance, a touch of magic, and jaw-dropping revelations. The voice is suburb and I connected with Grace from the first page all the way through. The interplay between Grace and her hoarder mother is gripping, but even more intense is the sizzling dynamic between her and her childhood friend, Marly. Every page burns with tension, and I simply couldn't put this book down until I finished it.
