When I first found this book I was a bit skeptical about how good this book would be, but after reading the first chapter I was hooked.Taenaren the book's main protagonist is a half-elf bladesinger haunted by the memories of his past. Along with him are Roberc the halfling warrior, Borovazk the ranger, and Marissa the Druid who themselves are as much outcasts as Taen is. The one thing about this book that really grabbed my attention was that unlike many adventure stories i've read the group doesn't go looking for fights and often try to avoid them but when they're backed to a corner thats when you see them show their Fighter side, its a big switch from these immortal characters many other authors put out. The author puts so much emotion into the main characters that you can't help but connect with them like I did. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

    Enticing with a few holes.

I liked this book even though i felt that the characters could have made the story much longer. Each character had intriguing aspects that the author could easily have turned into a trilogy. I went through the book pretty fast and was dissapointed it wasnt longer. The author could have gone way more in depth with other characters besides Taen, which was a little frustrating. But overall a pleasant read!

Embarassing to anyone who loves Action.

I must say that for a hero character Taen really sucked. I mean during the whole story only a couple of battles actually occured and they were really lame, no detail basically saying 'He shot magic,' and no real intense action parts that you would find in many books. The characters were very weak and not a lot of detail went into them. It kept jumping back and forth from past to present trying to tell you of his life being discriminated for being different. HELLO!!! THE CIVIL RIGHTS ERA HAS ALREADY PASSED!!!! Even at the end where he is suppose to be this kick ass bladesinger, he really isnt that good, and can't even get close to winning without the antagonist being completely injured. I would NOT recommend this book. If you wanna read about a good bladesinger, just read about Taegan Nightwind from the Year Of Rogue Dragons.
