An honest reflection on the brutality of war, individual sacrifice and the healing processes.
An exceptional book documenting a 'grunt's' view of Vietnam. Brutally honest and emotionally charged by personal fears and detailed accountings of individual sacrifices. Fortunate Son was a Marine by birth and a Platoon Leader by choice; he did an exceptional job of telling his story about his famous father, their relationship together, his tour in Vietnam and his rehabilitation back to his familly.
