    OUTSTANDING! DON'T MISS THIS ONE.

This book is fabulous! Jane Sevier is a gifted writer whose delightful southern voice draws the reader into the Memphis of the thirties. She has created an amazing cast of characters who come alive on the pages of this unique, suspenseful tale. Gutsy heroine Nell reminds me of a reincarnated Scarlett O'Hara--but without the shallow self-centeredness. I adored her! I can't wait for another adventure as Nell learns to use her "visions." Don't miss this one! (And don't be put off by the time period--trust me, it's terrific.)

    more from this reviewer

A lovely book full of surprises!

This is a wonderful book, full of surprising little nuggets of humor and sophistication. Jane Sevier's characters grab you and take you on a journey you don't expect. About the time you start to think heroine Nell Marchand is a little bit flighty, she proves you and everybody else wrong. About the time you think this is just a fluffy story about a society woman who comes up with a scheme to make money, a brilliant whodunit takes over the plot. I really enjoyed "Fortune's Fool" and I must say, the ending made me pray there's a sequel coming pretty darn soon! It's a great weekend read, or a book to curl up with when you're stuck in the cold of a northern winter!

    Great fun!

Pantheon of wonderful amateur sleuths--welcome Nell to your ranks. She arrives in great form in FORTUNE'S FOOL. Newly widowed and broke, with a gift that scares her, a big heart, and a wonderful, creative way with Tarot cards, she makes her way through this missing person mystery with the help of a lively cast of great supporting characters and a wonderfully mysterious love interest. Looking forward to continuing adventures in this great new series.

Great summer read! Jane Sevier masterfully transports the reader

Great summer read! Jane Sevier masterfully transports the reader into a by- gone era in Memphis, TN. The heroine is a wonderful role model for any reader of any age. Nell's relationship with Mr. Calendar and the intrigue  surrounding his character keeps you hooked.  All the characters are wonderfully delineated and there is something for everyone in this book: romance, drama, history, intrigue and mysticism. Ms Sevier brings her characters to life and the reader feels a part of the story..
