I'm a true believer when it comes to inspiring children to read!

My son who is 9 had a hard time finishing any of the books I bought him until I decided to purchase a classic starts book. Frankenstein was the first, Dracula was the second. He loved them! It blew his mind that a scientist would take other people's body parts and assemble like legos to make a monster. My son even felt empathy for "the monster." As soon as he finished Frankenstein, he asked me to order more classic starts which I promptly did. I guess there is a reason why classics have inspired generations of readers and writers.

    more from this reviewer

This is a GREAT book to introduce young readers to the classics

My son is seven (7) years old and he LOVED this book. It is a great way to introduce young readers to classic novels. I also think that it would be a good way for teachers to introduce 2nd and 3rd graders to classic novels. I plan on purchasing my son more books from this line.

So I encourage those with young readers to purchase this book and other books in this line.
