Fraternity without much commonality
Bob Greene, having interviewed five former presidents in and informal setting, you can get a sense of the types of person they would have been in private life. What I found is that the stereotypes generally associated with these people are pretty accurate.
Nixon is uptight and formal, Carter is detailed and intense, Ford is unpretentious and easy going, Bush a commons sense guy with a great deal of integrity, and Reagan really never left Hollywood.

Lost Oppertunity
I bought this book hoping to gain some new insight on the living Presidents. The interviews with Nixon and Carter were pretty good, but the others were lacking. Reagan had given permission to be interviewed but before the meeting with the author could take place the former President's health began to deteriorate. Much of the book covers the author's opinions and this just amounted to quite a bit of 'fluff'. I wanted to hear what these former Presidents had to say, but there was not much of that. It was a great idea, but I came away with very little.
