What worked for me: Ok, I'll admit that Shayna wasn't my favorit

What worked for me: Ok, I'll admit that Shayna wasn't my favorite character, but she did grow on me a bit. I definitely saw a softer more vulnerable side to her in this book. And I loved Carter, but that was no surprise. Together...I did like their relationship, but it leads me in to what didn't work for me.

What didn't work for me: Going in to this book, I felt like there was a lot of potential for these two characters. And while I do like them as a couple, I felt like something was missing. The story also felt a bit rushed to me.

Overall, I liked it, but didn't love it as much as I had hoped. I definitely a fan of Campbell's writing and I love this group of characters. I think one of the biggest wins for me was getting to see Quinn and Ben again. I just adore them. Adore. Them. So, would I recommend this one? I would. I think it you liked Grounding Quinn and Beautiful Things Never Last, you should read this one.

"What about dinner?" I ask as he scoops me up into his arms and carries me to his bedroom. "You promised Quinn we'd bring dinner."
"They'll figure out dinner for themselves. You just promised me dessert," he growls in my ear.

"I met a girl who understood me without even realizing it. I met a girl whose presence shook me to my core. Who did all those cliched things like make me want to be a better man, just to have a shot with her."

This isn't perfect. This is real. home.
