One of the best books I ever read!

Makes a great gift. It has both humorous and a tenderness that leaves a lump in your throat. Rereading it is like talking to an old friend.

    We Need More Front Porches

Less backyard patios inside 6 foot security fences that isolate us from our neighbors and neighborhoods, and more front porches with chairs and swings and steps to sit on and chat with the neighbors as the stroll by, or just drop by.

Philip Gulley makes a clear case for the need to return to the front porch with humor, insight and lessons we all need to be reminded of on a regular basis. That is why I and my family have read this wonderful treasure multiple times, and enjoyed it every time.

You will be tempted to read more that one of the 2-3 page stories at a sitting, but perhaps it is best to just read one and ponder it a while. That is what the slowed down, front porch life is about after all, isn't it?

Also recommended...lemonade or tea while reading.

    Wonderful Life Lessons

One of my alltime favorite books! I've read it a few times over the years that I've had it. It makes you slow down a bit and think of other people instead of rushing, rushing, rushing, and not really seeing anyone outside of your circle.
