A look on the other side of life
The content of this book was very entertaining in that it not only covers the stunts being performed, but gets into both the background and psyche of the people doing the stunts. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
For the "general public" the people interviewed and profiled in this book are so far out of their frame of reference that they might not relate to them or understand the "why" of what they do for a living. Or, they could just be dismissed as unbalanced or crazy and so the reader would not get involved enough to want to read further.
That would be a shame, because in a more global concept these stuntpeople are the same type of people as the firemen, sandhogs, soldiers, and athletes that do dangerous, physical work every day. Only more extreme.
I know I couldn't do it, but I more fully appreciate those that do having read this book. Plus, it's pretty cool to watch a movie now and recognize some of the people profiled in this book as the credits roll by at the end of the film...
