Great book to supplement practicing online
This book is used by the likes of Kaplan and the Princeton Review to acquaint test-takers with the exact type of questions that they will be asked when taking the test on the computer. It is worth purchasing by those who are not paying for a prep course and are preparing for the test on their own. Together with the Princeton Review's 'Manual for the GRE', which covers most of the necessary concepts, this book was elemental in my preparation and I scored very well in the actual test.

Outmoded!
While this book is a good start for learning analogies and reviewing math, it's a horrid way to prepare for the actual experience of taking the exam. The distribution of sections--in number, length, and appearance of a research section--has changed since the publication of this text, and it doesn't prepare you for the fact you¿ll be doing everything on a computer on the Big Day.

Not as good as advertised
I think this book has serious flaws. Reflecting what 'Outmoded' wrote I agree this book does not prepare one well for a CAT test. Having taken the GRE and used this book I noticed the quantitative section of the CAT test starts off with much more difficult questions then the paper version. This threw me for a loop. The book has some value in providing a source of questions but skip the easy ones in this book. Also, certainly get some resources to prepare for a CAT based test.

Don't pay for what's already free
When I bought this book I realized it only contained 2 tests and some practice questions. Imagine my surprise to discover one of the two tests was the practice test ALREADY MAILED OUT FOR FREE when I registered. Definitely a waste of money.
