Amazing Read. A must own.

When I picked this book up I thought it would be okay. But it was so much more than I anticipated. You're taken on a journey with these people, you cry for Rose and ache with Rachel. The author is so complete in her characters that it's easy to get lost in reading this ...

The author is so complete in her characters that it's easy to get lost in reading this book. It's very rare, in my opinion to find such a touching, genuine novel in this day and age. It's truly a favorite novel now. It's even a favorite re-read. A must own for any personal library.

    An easy read, but...

I chose this book because the plot sounded interesting but I was disappointed. The story is quite long (number of pages) but unfortunately the plotline falls flat in too many places. There are also too many characters who appear for a short time only to fade into the background within a few more pages. Even more disappointing was lack of resolution for the big lies; they just continue on! The potential for a really good story is there if more attention had been focused on developing the story-line and the emotions and personal interactions between the main characters. This probably doesn't seem like a very positive review but if you're looking for an easy-to read (though excessively long) story that covers multiple generations in one family then you might like this book. Not bad, but somewhat predictable.
