An original and multi-hued album. You won't get bored!

Jesse Winchester ... first you hear the voice, then you hear the lyrics. If you want to know what growing up in the home of rock'n'roll was like, listen to ''Sweet Little Shoe.'' And if you want to hear a journey through life, listen to the ballads. In his words you hear that living doesn't have to make you jaded. At different times I fast forward through different tunes, depending on the mood of the day. But there's Sun rock'n'roll, ballads, contemporary country, bluegrass, real country, gospel, and toe-tapping 'almost pop' tunes. He certainly doesn't get bored or in a rut with his music. But get this album for the ballads, especially ''I Wave Bye Bye,'' and for the cut I already mentioned, ''Sweet Little Shoe.'' You'll remember these songs and enjoy the whole album. The only question left is how do you get music directors to play his stuff?

grayed, but still strikes the right chord

Jesse's aged gracefully. His vocals have that good ol' sweetness and the tunes are well very written, as usual. Thanks Steve Huntington of Radio Margaritaville for another great recommendation. And it's great to hear ya Jesse.
