There will be diehard Austen fans who will have nothing good to say about this continuation! Ha, yes Ha I say to these gloomy gusses! In the authors notes Elliot has no illusions or desire to copy or capture Austen's unique style. Instead, she writes in diary form and gives voice to the shy sister of Darcy, Georgiana. Be forewarned there is a part deux to this delicious story. We are gloriously dropped back into the Darcy's lives a year after the nuptials. I will say no more except if truly you love Pride ans Prejudice you will do a disservice to yourself and Austen if you do not read.

    continues Austin's story further

using the device of diary entries, Elliott carries the character of Mr. Darcy's sister out of the shadows into the spotlight on her own right. She becomes an interesting, witty and
believable character as she moves through life in heer brother's home. It is a pleasant read.

    Not a lot of substance

If your expecting a book up to par with Austen's novels you will be disappointed but if you just want a quick, light, read it's okay. It is very predictable and the characters didn't really come alive for me.

Not like Jane herself, but not bad.

If you will be very aware of the myriad little slips, do not pick this one up. However, if you can drift along with the narrative jusrr to see what the author has decided to do with the secondary characters from P& P, you may find this entertaining.

    Highly Recomemnded

For those of us who loved the works of Jane Austen this is a keeper! Anna Elliott captures the spirit of the original but adds a few "tickles" of her own to these characters. Thoroughly enjoyable for a quick read!

A fun continuation of Pride and Prejudice.  It was nice to get to know Georgiana and see her grow up a bit.  I felt some things were a little out of character for some of the characters, specifically Lady Catherine De Bourgh.  Fun story though.

    Interesting and fun.

The author writes in the tradition of Jane Austen. Predictable but interesting.
