"Cool" Cooking.

A favorable review: educational and informative. The Get Healthy, Go Vegan Cookbook by Neal Barnard, MD and nutritionist Robyn Webb has some nice vegan recipes that are worth trying. The "Did You Know?" space in the recipes offers some great information. For example, on...
A favorable review: educational and informative. The Get Healthy, Go Vegan Cookbook by Neal Barnard, MD and nutritionist Robyn Webb has some nice vegan recipes that are worth trying. The "Did You Know?" space in the recipes offers some great information. For example, one says "studies show that 1/2 teaspoon (0.5 g) of ginger taken daily helps prevent seasickness, start a few days before you embark"; another says, "the word lentil comes from Latin, referring to its lenslike shape"; *packed with iron, protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals lentils are a popular dietary staple in many countries; also it says, "the word paella is derived from the Latin word patella, which means "pan," paella is commonly cooked in a shallow pan and is traditionally eaten straight from the patella. You can find paella cooking pans at your local specialty cooking store." Some of the information you will also find on Dr. Neal's DVD about diabetes. Add a little flavor to your vegan diet by trying some of these recipes. Enjoy!

    Recipes Too Large

    I read this book thoroghly to learn how to be a vegan, but I needed basic principles so I could make up my own recipes and plan my own meals. Recipes given are much too large fo one person. I enjoyed the information given as far as it went.
