    Excellent read for women/men/all ages

I've read this more than once and recommended it to others. Daniel Steel keeps you interested with a combination of history, adventure, love and romance; and a touch of Syfy into the ghosts around us. Something for everyone but written so well. Smooth story line that challenges you to put the book down. You close the book and find you are both admire and love the 'Ghost'.

    Ugh

Let me start by saying that I have read a ton of Danielle Steele's work. Of late, however, I have been reading the likes of Lisa Jackson and Lisa Gardner, and maybe I just don't like gushy romance anymore.

The entire book, right down to the last 20 pages, is about the main character's pity party. If I had to read one more time about this guy crying I think in would have lost it! The journals were interesting, but not enough to save the book for me.

    Definitely not for me.

    great book!

This book was soooo good. A definite page turner! It was sort of like reading 2 books because the main character was reading a story throughout a good portion of this book. Would reccomend to everyone

    I Also Recommend:

A very spiritual uplifting easy to read book!

This has got to be one of my favorite books of all time. Very entertaining, and leaves you with a fresh outlook on life. The characters are well written and it is unreal how the past and the present are written together. This is a very touching story about love and romance. This is a wonderful book for those of us that may be going threw a bad time in our lives and are looking for an escape. You will walk away from this book and look at life threw another set of eyes. This gives hope to all of who have given up on love. Read this book, you won't be disappointed!

A story colored with romance and history. Intriguing enough to keep your imagination wanting more. I read it the first time five years ago, and am delighted to say, am happy to pick it up again. My daughter remembers it by name, and had the sentiment

If you are looking for the escape of a good book, that doesn't insult your mind. Even the cover of the book is refreshing. Leaving the half naked men with their bulging muscles, grapping some damsel in destress. It has a refreshing bit of real american history, and true grit of the early women coming to the new country under different circumstances. Not always pretty. But amidst all this, the beuty of the New England countryside, the beuty of the long forgotten pastel walls of the mansion, that is the center of a forgiving wilderness. The romantic setting of the garden, that is revisited by the ghost of a dark haired women who survived to reach out and spark the imagination of another couple in love. Her lasting legacy found in her diaries.

    very good plot

thought the plot was great and the story was woven together vey great and I loved it. I noticed in the book though that even in the Charlie part and the Sarah part some of the characters in the book were all interested in the same things and had the same jobs. They were either lawyers and were intested in art. At least four characters in the book were interested in art and I thought that kinda redundant. I realize that she writes mostly about her life but I don't understand nearly all of her characters being born wealthy and find easy ways to make money. Like Sarah sold her jewels...why couldn't she work hard and make money or do something else instead of selling her mother's jewels and making a fortune...it's redundant and the same book everytime...just a different location and time frame and that's just boring but overall this was a good book.

    Thought out and wonderfully executed.

Seldom is a book published that draws the reader back time and time again. I have read this book nine times. Each time I read it it offers insight into real life trials and tribulations. It offers hope and allows one to look to the future. When beginning to read this book, I knew that it was a romance novel. However, I took to light as if it were a mystery. With this in mind. I read one yes, one chapter per night and pondered where the next chapter would take me. It was like reading chapters of life itself. Walk a mile in Charlies shoes. Will he return to England? Will he get his ex back? Is she being influenced not to talk to him? Is the baby his? How will he survive? Will he get the love of his life, child and a future? Read a chapter a night and you will find yourself looking forward.

I loved everything about this book!!!!

From the moment that I began reading this book I was completely drawn in. There are so may wonderful things about this book. My favorite part is how it goes from one life to another life. It goes from the life of Charlie to the life of Sarah, which are in two completely different time periods. I love the moral of the story 'sometimes you have to let go with the past to move on to the future.' There are some things however that I would have liked to have found out. I would have likes to have known more about Charlie and Franchessca and how their relationship went on after the story ended. Ther was a certain simile that I adored its when Cahrlie first found out that his wife was having an affair, he says 'my heart sank like a burning ship in the ocean.' It just set so many scenes for the imagination. Everytime I read a word or flipped a page it seems like a picture was painted in my head, and I felt like I was there. This was a book that I could pesoanally realate to, and I reccomend this book to anybody that has or is going through stuggles because this book gives you advice and you dont even know it until after you read it.

I loved everything bout this book!!!

From the moment that I began to read this book I was completely drawn in. I like how it swithces the time frame, and how it goes back and forth between Sarah and her life and Charlie and his. Its a book that I think that everyone can relate to at some point in there life and as soon as I started reading I knew that I was going to enjoy the book! Anybody that enjoys reading and novels like these then I reccommend that you read this book. The morale of the story for me is that no matter how bad life is as long as you want a better life, and know that its time to move on then it more likely to happen.

    Steel's Best

I travel in my car a lot and audio books are my lifesaver. I have probably read at least 20 of her books and this is her very best. I usually don't like historical romances but this one is so believable you can easily relate it to your own life today. It sure gives hope to those of us who are somewhat disillusoned!

    Incrediably Fantastic

This book didn't have a off the hook beginning but once you go couple of chapters you won't wanna stop reading it. All the characters they were just so real and as always she did put real feeling in to what ever she wrote. I love this book and have read it over and over. I think everybody else should read it too.
