Best Ghost Hunting Story on the Market!!!

Ghosts of Rosewood Asylum is a well-written tale that pulls you in, from the beginning. The first chapter leaves you wanting more, and it is a hard one to put down. I think I read the entire book in two days, if you count the hours! I had to make myself put it down, so I could enjoy the reading experience over just a week's time. The XPI group on Facebook is very fun, and often gives out prizes for trivia. Overall, I loved the book, and very much looking forward to the sequel.

    Spooky, mysterious, FUN

Ghosts of Rosewood Asylum is one of the best books I've read in a long time. Author Stephen Prosapio's writing style makes this book an easy and fun read. It's easy to get lost in the pages and in the story that follows Zack Kalusky, his fellow Xavier Paranormal Investigators teammates and rival paranormal group, Demon Hunters. It had me hooked from page one and excited to read to the end to find out what happened. Ghosts of Rosewood Asylum is definitely one book I'll want to read and re-read over and over. I look forward to reading the next book to see what paranormal adventure Zack and the rest of the XPI group goes on.

    Spellbinding..............

I love to read and try to squeeze a few chapters of a good book in each night. This was NOT the case with "Ghosts of Rosewood Asylum". I was instantly drawn in to the mystery unfolding before me and could not put it down! Stephen Prosapio presents an "easy read", as he introduces Zach Kalusky and the other Xavier Paranormal Investigators and brings them and the crew of the Demon Hunters to Rosewood Asylum. Stephen perfectly blends what we've been taught to accept as real and that vast, mysterious world of the paranormal. The journey to the conclusion was heart-pounding to the very last page. I eagerly await the further explorations of the XPI team!

    more from this reviewer

    Well-balanced, well-told: a good scary read.

Polished confident storytelling characterizes this scary and thoroughly modern ghost story by Stephen Prosapio. Zach Kalusky heads the cast of Xavier Paranormal Investigators and hides a secret. As the team combines with the scorned, and possibly fake, Demon Hunters for a TV special filmed at Rosewood asylum, Zach may not be the only person hiding something. Ghost-hunting details, ethical challenges, and seriously scary mysteries ensue. Someone has been setting fires for more than a century and the council would like to sell the building if only anyone could manage to stick around and buy it. But Zach's not sure who's pulling what strings behind the scenes.

With fun details of ghost-hunting and television technique, nicely researched history, and a sympathetic approach to the protagonist's Catholic faith, this really is a captivating read. There's a nice balance of the unexpected with the guessed-at, scary with calm, and real with fake, leading to a very visual, exciting conclusion. I certainly hope there'll be more XPI adventures in the future.

Disclosure: I "met" Stephen Prosapio on Gather, then later on Facebook, and was pleased to get a really good deal on buying this book.

    Way scarier than I expected!!!

I LOVED this book!! Quite honestly, I really wasn't sure whether or not I would enjoy it, based on the premise: college kids on a ghost hunt. It seemed very typical. However, I was pleasantly surprised - and SCARED!!! One night I was reading in bed and said to myself, "I have to put this down or I will never be able to sleep!!

Overall, I thought this was a fairly quick and easy read - or maybe that's just me since I couldn't put it down ;0) - but the characters were still very well developed and had great depth.

If "ghost stories" are your passion (as they are mine), I definitely recommend Ghosts of Rosewood Asylum! I am eagerly - and maybe not so patiently :0) - awaiting the next book!

    Ok Ghost Story

I thought this was ok. The characters reminded me of Paranormal State - the TV show on A&E. It is a group of college students that investigate hauntings. The main character sounds A LOT like the main character on PS and a lot of the crew line up with the rest of their group. The PS group even has a psychic that they bring in a lot. The resemblance was amazing. I thought the author did a good job of making the book mysterious with the story, but I saw Evelyn coming a mile away, and then when they "rid" the asylum of the main threat, it was kind of anti-climatic. To me, it seemed too easy to get rid of the demon/ghost thing. Anyway, I thought the book was good up till the end. I thought a little more drama was necessary. I will, however, read the next book because overall I did enjoy this one.
