    Never give up!

This has become a favorite of my four year old grandson. Every child has moments of being afraid to take a risk and is needing encouragement. The story demonstrates both disappointment when the other animals laugh because the giraffe cannot dance to courage when a suggestion and encouragement are made and it works! All of sudden the giraffe is the center of attention in a positive way. When I finished reading the story to my grandson, his response was Read is again, Gramma.

    Great book!

This book is great! It is a fun book filled with colorful pages.
My 20 month old loves looking at the pictures and seeing how the funny giraffe tries to learn how to dance.

    Must own children's book

    I absolutely love this book.

Gerald the giraffe is tall and lanky and sometimes clumsy. He wants to dance so much, but the other animals make fun of him. The night of the annual Jungle Dance he attempts to make his debut, only to be jeered at and driven away. On his way home he meets a wise cricket who teaches Gerald that we all dance to difference music; Gerald just needs to find his. With that the cricket plays his violin and before he knows it, Gerald is swaying to the music and starts to dance.

This is a great lesson for children to learn. I love it and I LOVE Parker-Rees' illustrations. They really bring this beautiful message to life.
