Classic Alt Comic Worth A Read
This is the second and strongest book in the collection of the original Locas stories featuring Maggie and Hopey coping with life in their hometown of Hoppers. This volume departs from the fantastical continent hopping adventures of the first volume and takes on a more realistic tone, dealing with everyday issues such as apartment search and going to concerts, as well as tackling bigger themes such as love and death. I love "Love and Rockets" because it depicts women of different sizes and races in an even and multifaceted manner rather than simply objectifying them as they are in so many other comics. I recommend this for anyone who wants to read an entertaining and at times heartfelt comic with beautiful, crisp art and fascinating characters. Was this review helpful?
