unique but strange read -

different than anything else i've read recently, but i'm not sure i could or would recommend this book to others.

girl growing up poor, fatherless, in a trailer park, misunderstood, abused, somewhat depressing overall

author's writing is hard to follow at times

    more from this reviewer

Highly Recommended. Definitely worth your time.

Although the content may be difficult to read, it is an important subject that often goes unrecognized amongst our children. Ms.Hassman has a delightful writing style that kept me engaged right through the last page.

What does it mean to come of age?

For a girlchild being raised in a trailer park in poverty, that answer is clearly different for Rory Hendrix than it was for Holden Caulfield all those years ago. But the question remains the same. This is a brilliant modern turn on that age-old story.

    Excellent Read!

I loved the voice in this book. A story of poverty, exploitation, determination and grit. Bravo.
