I recieved this Bible from my youth leader five years ago, when I was ten.
At the time, I just went to youth for the free food and hanging with my friends. I didn't pay attention to lesson and was bored constantly. When my youth leader gave all the members Bibles, everyone was psyched- except me. All I could think was, "IT'S PINK." and, "What the heck, I don't want a Bible. I won't use it."
Though parents probably don't realize it, when girls are ten, they already know the workings of sex and want to try it out. They think that they're all grown up and deserve to wear makeup and text their "boyfriends". When I got this Bible, I was pretty close to having sex. At TEN YEARS OLD.
One night it was raining and I was bored. I had read all my books and had nothing else to do. I picked up the Bible and flipped through it. I thought, "Man, this is alot cooler than I thought!" There were little devotionals from teens and mini-lessons about why things are right or wrong. I started reading.
Through the years I am still not quite sure what God has in store for me, but I'm alot closer to Him now. I pray now, I don't cuss, I follow as closely as humanly possible to his footsteps. This Bible has helped me through alot, and it's become precious to me. I've even gotten used to the pink color.

I recommend this for ten years old and up. Maybe even younger.

    Girls Life Application Study Bible

    My Synopsis:

Girls Life Application Study Bible, New Living Translation, 2nd edition

The Girls Life Application Study Bible is unique because it was written for girls ages 11 and up. With a beautiful purple butterfly cover and designer page edges it will appeal to a girls sense of beauty and fashion, while also answering her questions about her faith and belief in God. It will teach her about following Jesus and how to love others.

This Bible has many features that readers will love. There is a beautiful introduction to each book of the Bible, as well as memory verses, amazing facts, timelines, charts, 3-D maps and 16 pages of full color illustrations depicting how culture differed from today in Bible times. There are several short features throughout the text of this Bible that will benefit young girls.

What Now? is a feature that will guide young girls through learning to make good choices and other real life situations.
I survived is comprised of personal stories from older teens who have been where they are and know how they feel.
At a Glance tells about famous women from the Bible, both good and bad and how they can influence their lives.
Is it OK? lets them know exactly what the Bible says about certain questions that may come up.
I'm Not the Only One lets them know they are not alone in things that have happened or feelings they may be having.

There are several indexes in the back of the Bible to help readers find what they are looking for quickly and effectively. Another feature is The Greatest Stories Reading Plan which will help the reader, read through important sections of the Bible in a years time. There is also a section detailing God's Gift to the reader and how to accept it.

The New Living Translation's motto is: The Truth Made Clear. It is easy to understand, using today's language and age appropriate wording. This translation was first done in 1996 and has become one of the most popular translations.

    My Thoughts:

This is a Bible that I feel very comfortable recommending to my daughter who is 12. In fact I liked this Bible so well that I purchased another copy for my other daughter who will be turning 11 soon. I think that it is very important for Teens and Tween girls to have a Bible that they feel is easy to understand and easy to find things in. They are going through a very emotional time in their lives and having that reassurance that others have been their too is nice.

Several of the features are just what my girls needed to have in a Bible just for them. I know that they have questions about things but aren't always comfortable asking and features like, Is it Ok? and I'm Not the Only One will help with that. The reading plan in the back of the Bible is perfect for young girls because they want to read the Bible but don't want to read all the genealogies and the specifications for the temple and that sort of thing, and this reading plan focuses on the great stories of the Bible and things that would be important in their spiritual lives.

I was really impressed with how beautiful the cover and the page edging is on this Bible. They really found something that will appeal to the young girls heart and sense of fashion. Who wouldn't want to carry this great looking Bible?

    Beautiful Bible!

Several weeks ago, my ten year old sister and I started doing a Bible study together (watch for an upcoming review of the book we use!). I decided to use my New Living Translation with her because it is often difficult for her to really grasp the meaning from the King James or even NIV. She read aloud the first chapter of Genesis from the NLT and could not stop talking about how easy it was to understand. Her being able to understand the Scriptures allowed us to talk about what she learned and how that applies to her life.

When Tyndale sent me a copy of their Girl's Life Application Study Bible in NLT, I was delighted to give it to my sister and let her have her own copy of God's Word that is fun, relevant, and easy for her to understand. She was thrilled. As I handed her the box with the purple Bible and glittery butterfly, her eyes grew wide. She could hardly wait for Sunday so she could take it to church and show all her friends. I often walked past her room to see her reading her new Bible.

When I asked her what her favorite things are about her new Bible, she gave me a long list of things! She loves that the NLT is easy for her to understand. In addition to that, though, the features of this study Bible bring light to the Word even more. Some of her favorite boxes are called, "I'm Not the Only One!" These sections and others like them allow preteen girls to realize they are not the only ones who face struggles. What an important lesson for these girls to learn during a crucial time in their life!

My sister loves this Bible, and I have no doubts that the girls you know will as well.

I was provided a free copy for review by Tyndale House Publishers.

Finally the perfect Life Application Study Bible just for girls 11 and up!

This isn't a Bible for little girls. It's a Bible created just for you! The image about shows the Bible in the pink packaging but it really is beautiful when you remove it. When you open it and lay it flat, the front and back cover makes wings for the butterfly while the body of it is on the spine of the book!

This Girls Life Application Study Bible is a New Living Translation and is packed with real stories from tweens and teens just like you.

The notes and features help you sort out answers to questions about belief in God, following Jesus, and loving others.

    * Special presentation page, purple ribbon marker and designer page edges.

    * Memory verses, Amazing Facts, book introductions, timelines, charts, three-dimensional maps, and 16 pages of full-color illustrations about Bible times.

One of these Amazing Facts were "What slave was thrown into prison in a foreign country, only to become second-in-command of that country? Joseph, of course...Genesis 41:1-46"

    * What Now? - Real life situations that point you to Scripture so you can learn how to make good choices in tough times.

An example of What Now? Talks about setbacks. Tamara and Jamie spent weeks working on their English project. Finally, they pulled everything together and made what Tamara thought was a fantastic poster. When Tamara walked into English class on their presentation day, she couldn't believe her eyes! Jamie looked horrified. "My little brother got into my room and 'colored' the poster." Tamara was close to tears. They couldn't turn in a scribbled-up poster! What do you think Tamara should do? Genesis 39:19-23 tells how Joseph handled setbacks.

    * I Survived! - Personal survival stories from older teens about how they made it through the situations that you face right now.

    * At A Glance - The lives of famous women in the Bible - both good and bad - become lessons for you!

    * Is It OK? - A reality check on what the Bible has to say about the questions on your mind.

Is it OK if I want to spend time just chillin? There is nothing wrong with taking time off and relaxing. God took a break himself after creating the world. (see Genesis 2:2). But if there's a job to be done, it's best to finish that first. God honors our hard work, even if no one else does.

I received this complimentary Bible from Tyndale Publishing Group to review and my youngest daughter fell in love with it. The purple, leather Bible cover with a beautiful butterfly stamped into the front and back of it makes it appealing to any girl looking for something more grown up.

The information that is shared on every page is thought provoking and valid for girls 11 and up. Not only did she love it but I loved looking through it with her. The text was easy for her to understand in purple and pink font. What more could any girl want! This comes highly recommended from not only myself but with my daughter's stamp of approval as well. She couldn't wait to finish with her homework so she could begin looking through it. As a mom, I couldn't be happier to have her really want to pick up her Bible and read it!

A Perfect Bible for Tweens and Teens!

If you have a younger girl, or even a tween or teen, this would be the absolute perfect Bible for her! It is not only gorgeous purple on the outside it has a beautiful butterfly on it. The page edging is also a pink and purple beautiful color. Inside the Bible there are wonderful questions that young girls would ask, and they are outlined and answered in a wonderful way for being understood better.
It shows many Biblical women throughout the Bible and their struggles and God's help to them. There are wonderful pictures in this Bible that show Biblical times making this Bible an interesting one for a young girl or teenager to have when she's headed out the door to church. Some other added bonuses to this Bible, are the trivia!...makes studying the Bible really fun!...and also some real life stories from other amazing teens and how they came to Christ. I highly recommend this book to all the teens, tweens, and young girls alike!

~A Copy of this book was provided for review by Tyndale House Publishers.
