Arts and Facts...Kids Love 'em
While writing this book, I discovered some amazing factoids that I knew children would enjoy if transformed into easy art projects they could do with little adult help! For example, did you know that the undersea coral of Figi is some of the most colorful in the entire world? Okay, let's paint a watercolor painting in pinks, purples and yellow like the coral of Figi! Then outline the shapes with a marking pen, and you have an interpretive work of art. Another one? Why, sure! The French perfected fancy perfumed soaps, so let's sculpt soap shapes from left-over scraps of bar soap that is first soaked to soften and then pressed flat and cut with cookie cutters! Kids can learn interesting things from Global Art, but more important, they can be creative while learning. Let's face it: The most important thing about this book !!really!! is that it is easy fun art for kids of all ages.I have never known a child in all my years of teaching and consulting who did not find art to be wonderful, especially open-ended art that supports the premise that the process is far more important than the finished product any day. Now let's construct a full-size imaginative anaconda snake out of an old bedsheet inspired from a real anaconda from Brazil! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
