Jennifer Wardrip - Personal Read
The second book in J.D. Robb's "...IN DEATH" series, following NAKED IN DEATH, is another winner. The thing I love the most about this series, besides the awesome, fully-developed characters, is the fact that the mystery is ALWAYS thrilling and realistic.
This time around, popular, well-known, outspoken women are being murdered - their throats viciously slashed. As Eve works to discover the true killer, she also finds family secrets, devious reporters, and new friends in strange places.
GLORY IN DEATH features the first appearance of Peabody, a larger role for Nadine Furst, and the first glimpse into what Eve's childhood really entailed.
I'm absolutely LOVING rediscovering my favorite romantic suspense series of all time!!4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

I was given the first In Death book, Naked In Death, by a co worker. She told me that they were good books, but she lied. They're GREAT books. I couldn't put it down. I just finished reading Glory In Death, and I can't wait to continue the story of Eve and Roarke. IM ADDICTED!!!!

Absolutely Wonderful
What an adventure. The characters comes to life. I read the books years ago, so I wanted the audio for my long commutes. Susan Ericksen is the perfect reader for all of the in Death series. This is a quick read, your totally engrossed, a little romance and a lot of fast past action and thrills will keep you reading this story until its conclusion.

I wish there were a higher rating to give ...
This book delivers! Full stop. Like mystery? This is the real deal. Like suspense? Got it here ... How about all the excitement of a thriller ... ditto! And the romance? Well, it doesn't disappoint, and for my two cents, Roarke (he of the no last name) is the sexiest contemporary hero ever written. When I read earlier Nora Roberts books, I can discern how she crafted him, distilled him into the man he is in this very excellent series. And Eve is a tortured, conflicted, brilliant, utterly sympathetic heroine. Read it. Read them all. Just do it.

I love Nora Roberts, but had tried to read a J.D. Robb novel onc
I love Nora Roberts, but had tried to read a J.D. Robb novel once and just didn't like it. Then I tried the first one and thought it was just OK. So, I decided to try this, the second one. Again, I thought it was just so-so for about 50 pages. Then the story and characters and plot development and everything else grabbed me and I couldn't stop reading until I was finished! And I almost didn't make it since it was a library book and I'd put off finishing it til the last minute! Made it with 34 minutes to spare. And now I'm addicted. Have the third one already and the next 5 after that are on my wish list. Glad I didn't discover this series a long time ago since now I have something quite new to get into that should last quite awhile!

Each book more addicting than the last
I'm already on the 4th book in this series....and each one gets better than the last! If you are a fan of strong female leads, of mysteries, and like to follow a set of characters over the course of several books then the Eve Dallas series might be for you. I was disappointed when I finished reading another author's series about a lady bounty hunter when I heard about this series. This series is more serious and much darker. Eve Dallas is a "damaged" street cop in town set not too far in the future. We have just met Roarke, he new love interest and still aren't sure if he is a good guy or a bad guy, and he seems to have some links to a group of powerful women being slaughtered for all the world to see. Highly addictive, totally recommended.

Always a great read
I don't think you can beat J. D. Robb's well-crafted futuristic crime series and the characters she's created, although I'd personally like it best if she toned down the use of the F word.

best series of books ever
I own all of the series, that's 33 books plus the in death novellas and I read and re-read them all the time. I will start at the beginning and go thru' them all in order. Sometimes I take out my favorite one or two and read those. I bought this one for my nook plus a couple of others of my favorites so that i will have an Eve/Roarke story with me, just in case i have a reading emergency, i.e. stuck waiting somewhere.

My mom got me hooked, i resisted for a long time because i thought it was furturistic sci-fi stuff, but it isn't. it's a good story line that draws you in to lives of all of the characters and leaves you at the end of the book waiting for more. I highly recommend these books.
Not for younger readers, they can be graphic with the murders and intimate moments of the books.
Anxiously waiting for #34. -

Highly recommend - check it out!
I like the idea that the main characters are the same in the series, but their relationship is growing, yet each book can stand alone.. Even better is you had not read any of the series, you would like the story and characters.

Who is Eve Dallas?
Eve Dallas searches in vain through most of the book for some hard evidence to reveal who is slashing the throats of high profile prominent women. It's wonderful to watch her live with Roarke and get used to the fact that he's there. She's comfortable with Mavis but seems to frequently wonder why. Feeny is always there and is one of the few constants in her life.

I think the most revealing part of the book is when she asks herself. Who is Eve Dallas?
She's really starting to remember what happened to her before she was found in the alley in Dallas and it truly frightens her as does her growing relationship with Dr. Mira, the Police psychologist.
