    Wonderful book!

I a woman who has struggled with her weight for years because of Polycystic Ovary Syndrone. Finally some help! This is truly working for me and my worry of diabetes because of the p.c.o.s. has diminished. I am recommending this book to everyone I know with diabetes and to everyone in my family.

Honest, Realistic Approach to Weight Loss

I absolutely LOVED this book! I have read many diet books but this one is the most honest and realistic approach to weight loss that I ever read. There is no counting, calculating, weighing, and very little restriction. The author does suggest exercise but nothing strenuous and the frequency of exercise he suggests is easy to fit into any busy schedule. It is a very easy read. I finished it in one day. Actually his ideas were so exciting it was hard to put it down. This book really gave me the inspiration and information I was looking for to kick start a new lifestyle. Anyone who thinks low carb diets work but are too restricting will love this book too!

    Highly Recommend

This is the best information regarding the glycemic topic for the user. It help me to better understand and apply the glycemic philosophy to my daily food plan and it works very well. I am type 2 insulin resistant male near 50 years of age with starting blood sugar of over 300 and A1c of 11.4 and with 45 days brought it down to avg blood sugar of 145 and A1c of 9.9 yesterday. Now we'll see if I start losing weight now that the sugar/insulin levels have dropped into the high normal range and moderate activity. Still the book has excellent info on the topic if you are seeking user friendly info.

Great way to Kick start a diet lifestyle change.

I found the book helpful in eliminating the bad food choices. It also provided some great ideas for making better nutritional choice. The book was also recommended by my doctor.

    lose weight

I think this book is great starter for losing weight but I should of gotten the cookbook he wrote with it at first because there is thing he left out that is in the cookbook. What to eat when going out, what breads sold in stores that are low carb. Last but least, what type of stuff to stock up in kitchen. I have been on it 2 months, at first I went through carb with drawl but now feel great. Lost 8 pounds, my belly is flatter and inches lost are the most observed. I will get blood work done later to see the results but I am a believer.

    I Also Recommend:

    Good For Certain Bodies

This book is well researched and informative. However, you must make sure your body will do well with few carbs and lots of protein. Not all body types respond well to this kind of eating, and high fat contents can put on pounds instead of decrease pounds. The book is easy to read, however, and is good for those looking to understand the glycemic load.

I have read more diet & healthy eating books than I can count.  If I could just lose one pound for each one, I'd be too thin!
I also am a healthcare professional, and have studied research about the best way to eat and maintain a healthy weight
and lifestyle.  This book NAILS IT...and without a lot of preaching, or overwhelming science-talk.  I have finally found the RIGHT
way to eat, am no longer riddled with guilt if I don't get on the treadmill and sweat for an hour.  This book is how to
to eat and be active in the real world.
