I've read it twice and am working on the third go 'round

Deborah Blake says this is a book for an "advanced" witch, but I don't think that is really true. I'm far from advanced, am still exploring the Wiccan path and have been desperately looking for a way to bring my spiritual beliefs into my daily round, rather than on set ceremonial occasions. This book covers that and more.

This book covers what it means to be a healthy witch, how being a witch can help us through the hard times as well as the good ones. How to set up our altars, well, we've seen that a dozen times in other books, but Deborah Blake discusses more than the simple "Goddess candle on teh left, God candle on teh right, pentacle in the center" instructions we usually get. She goes deeper, into what an at home altar means to the individual.

I found the seven principles of Witchcraft to be the most thoroughly explained "rules of conduct" that I have ever seen, and they were written in a very understandable and clear manner. If you find yourself stuttering when an non-wiccan challenges your faith, pull out this book and show them that very first chapter (or just read it to them). Nothing else has explained Witchcraft better!

I'm not covering all the books sections in this review in detail, but let me tell you, they're all fantastic and well worth buying the book for.

    I Also Recommend:

    Excellent

I'm very picky when it comes to my witchy books and I love this one, it's imformative, easy to understand and fun. I recommend it to all and not just pagans or the like, really everything in this book can be applied to anyone of any religion.

A great compelation of ideas on how to incorporate a little witchy touch into your everyday life. Paired with folklore as well.

One of the things I absolutely loved about this book is the writ

One of the things I absolutely loved about this book is the writing style. It is not stiff and impersonal like many other books I have read. Miss Blake writes in a very friendly and welcoming manner, often using humor, which makes it seem more like a conversation than a lecture. You feel as though she is talking directly to you.

I believe that this is a wonderful book that anyone who feels the need to learn more about Pagans can enjoy. Displaying such warmth and wisdom, Deborah Blake is really in her element here.
