Passion and Humor Are a Perfect Blend in this Book!
I loved this book! From the very beginning to the end, I couldn't put it down. Garnet is full of life and passion. She is also downright stubborn, which makes sparks fly between her and Jeremiah who is just as stubborn as she is. While he is determined to be with her, she is determined to runaway. And she does succeed in running away, except she finds herself in a whore house--to her horror. It isn't until Jeremiah rescues her that she begins to fall in love with him. The only complaint I have about this book is that it ended too soon. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Lively Australian Melodrama
Garnet Perry arrives in colonial Australia on a bride ship, destined to marry Edward Landis, a connection of her stepmother. The marriage is brief, horrible and violent, and Garnet finds herself being sold at public auction. Her purchaser, Jeremiah Gold, is a proud currency lad, born in the colony. The story of how he and Garnet weather bushrangers, fire, attempted murder and emotional estrangement is blended with a colourful historical background. Was this review helpful?
