This was an excellent read for those who like to truly - read.

This was an excellent read for those who like to truly - read. One must relax and let yourself get absorbed into it, especially with an open mind. Be sure to read the book before seeing the movie. Afterwards, you'll be ready for The Kingdom of Shivas Irons - a read that will also open up your mind and feelings.

    Worked for me!

I happen to be a student of the game and enjoy golf on every level (athletic - mental). I was given the suggestion to read this book by a mentor of mine and finally did so with a bit of skepticism at first. I was immediately drawn into this book and, well... I became one with it. I had to re-read a couple of spots because of the phonetic style of writing for some of the characters... it was still worth every moment I spent with it. I feel this book was very relevant for me. If a person can remain open minded about the game and how it relates to thier life they will be able to find how the mystic nature of golf and this book intersect. One will need to remember (Without hinderance) the moments and feelings they have experienced while playing the game, if they cannot, then maybe this book (Or the game for that matter) is not really meant for them.

    Take what works

If you can make it through the abstract analyses and follow the main character's path of learning, you will find the true value of this book: the Zen in your golf game. It's the centering, the balance, that you must feel and project all the way through your stroke and the flight of the ball. It's something I learned from Shivas Irons that is with me every time I hit the ball. It's a great read. It changed my whole game!

    Mystical Golf Book

The first two thirds of this book read extremely easily. The story of Murphy and Shivas grabs you right from the start. The last third where the author delves into the secrets of 'true gravity' kind of lost my attention. Clearly well worth reading!
