David McLimans has won numerous awards for his editorial illustrations, including an Award of Excellence from the Society of Newspaper Designers and Certificate of Excellence from Print Magazine. His work has appeared in the Washington Post, AIGA, Time, The New York Times, the Progressive, Atlantic Monthly, and Hprper¿s. This is his first children¿s book. In 2006 he won the Caldecott Medal for Gone Wild, An Endangered Animal Alpphabet. He lives and works in Madison, Wisconsin. Gone Wild is a wonderful book full of endangered animals. Each letter of the alphabet pertains to an endangered animal. Each letter is drawn is the shape of the endangered animal. Each page list the animal, its habitat, the range, the threats, and its status, this tells whether it is critically endangered, endangered or vulnerable.
