    Grand adventure from Shana Galen!

Good Groom Hunting is the delightful second installment in Shana Galen's praised Misadventures in Matrimony series about four cousins who, as children, form a Spinster's Club and vow never to marry. **This story focuses on Josephine (Josie) Hale and her quest for adventure, not only to find her grandfather's missing treasure, but to seduce and become her enemy's lover. I absolutely loved Josie! She is such a terrific heroine--one that every girl secretly longs to be at some point in their life. She's funny and smart, she's outspoken and brave. In the book she is labeled as 'The Unflappable Josephine Hale' and it certainly fits...until she meets Lord Westman... Stephen Doubleday, Lord Westman, is a tortured hero that is a perfect mix of gentleman and rake. He's the kind of hero we love to read about. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him try and resist Josie and her outrageous flirting at every turn and it made it all the more wonderful to watch when he finally gave in to her. Josie and Stephen complimented each other perfectly.** I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It had everything--romance, action, adventure, hot love scenes and memorable characters. I am eagerly anticipating the rest of this series! Ms. Galen is a shining star with a long and rewarding career ahead of her!

    Couldn't put it down!

Josephine (Josie) Hale is determined never to be married and not just because she made a young girl's pact as a member of the Spinster's Club. She wants to be a pirate. Well, not a true pirate really. She just wants to claim the treasure her grandfather told her he'd hidden back when he'd been a pirate so she can live independently, without the emcumbrances of marriage. The only problem is that she only has half of the treasure map. The other half is in the possession of Stephen Doubleday, whose family is the sworn enemy of the Hale family. How far will Josie go to acquire the treasure map? Stephen Doubleday has a well-earned reputation of a rake. It's at his hands that his family has lost everything - their good name and their fortune. After the death of his brother and father, Stephen returns home to try to restore all he has cost his family. He's never believed the stories of maps and treasures but can he afford not to listen when Josie climbs through his library window and offers him half, if he'll help her find the treasure? As Stephen and Josie set out on their adventure, someone seems to be dogging their every move, trying to stop them from finding the treasure. The game turns deadly at the same time the couple's desire for each other grows, and soon they must decide where the real treasure lies. At an 'X' on the map, or in their hearts, where true love might exist after all? Once again, Ms. Galen has created characters that are very likeable. The story was fun and fresh - not your standard, predictable pirate tale. I highly recommend it.

    fun Regency romance

In 1811 England, eighteen year old Josephine Hale, who always believed her grandfather¿s tales about the high seas, treasures and female adventuresses, decides the time is right for her to prove if his tales are true. She owns half of what is allegedly a treasure map and plans to obtain, if necessary purloin, the other half though her nemesis Stephen Doubleday possesses it. Their families have been feuding since her kin killed his on their ship the Good Groom. Josephine assumes the only way she can get the map from Doubleday is to seduce it out of him. He, in turn, finds a seduction by a wild beauty intoxicating and the thought that he could get her half of the map to find the treasure invigorating. However, as they fall in love, the lethal pirate One Eyed Jack wants the entire map and is willing to kill two landlubbers for it. --- GOOD GROOM HUNTING is a fun Regency romance with a bit of a mystery involving the murder of Stephen¿s grandfather, a treasure hunt with a dangerous pirate in pursuit, and a love story between bitter enemies. Sub-genre fans will enjoy this wild ride from London to the High Seas as two sworn combatants find the greatest treasure of them all. --- Harriet Klausner
