It's about time for Dawkins to write a general account of evolution. He is one of the best science writers ever, marrying great knowledge and deep passion. Even those who know the basics will be enthralled. For those who don't know, and who have never read a book by Dawkins, they have a great treat in store. And for those who think science is a cold, unfeeling enterprise, well, they are about to learn the truth.

    Philosophy Disguised as Science

In typical fashion, Richard Dawkins creates a book to argue for his atheistic worldview, rather than let science itself do the talking. I will admit that people's preconceptions do play a role in their interpretations of science. Dr. Dawkins however, goes beyond science in his attempt to once again prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no God; and that Christians are idiots (doesn't sound like science to me).

Dawkins fails to account for the complete lack of transitional forms in the fossil record (especially if he is going to elevate evolution beyond mere theory into undeniable fact). He may try, but his attempts are wanting. What Dr. Dawkins (along with other evolutionists) is not telling you is that many scientists do not agree with evolution and for good reasons, there is no evidence beyond natural selection or micro-evolutionary/adaptations. In other words no informed scientist will deny that life can adapt or change to survive in new environments (through mutations); but no mutations add new information to the DNA code. Mutations lose information (not gain it), so the idea of common descent is without evidence or merit.

Dawkins is relying on strawmen to represent the viewpoints of intelligent design and creationist proponents. I recommend looking at the other viewpoints regarding intelligent design that ARE available in science publications and peer reviewed journals (despite what many evolutionists may say). I also recommend that you look at Dr. Johnathan Sarfati's rebuttal to this book, titled: 'The Greatest Hoax on Earth?: Refutting Dawkins on Evolution'. Dr. Dawkins is not telling you the full story regarding the evidence (or lack thereof) for evolution.

    Reeaally Dumb.

Charles Darwin himself claimed evolution was impossible. Im not a scientist, but that fact by itself is pretty self explanitory.
