An Unrealistic Let-Down
Pros 'straining' to hit 290-yard drives and frequently laying up short of par 4s from nothing but light rough? Gimme a break. The book promises something and never delivers. The writer never overcomes the objections to the preposterous story - a hustler playing in the Ryder Cup. Instead, mired in an unbelievable story with unbelievable characters, many of which are simply caricatures of real-life PGA Tour pros, the writer plods along to a boring ending: a missed putt. Yawwwwwn.
