a sober account of big game hunting

Although not as bleak as 'Snows of Kilimanjaro,' Hemingway took a decidedly non-glamorous view of big game hunting in Africa. His descriptions, as always, were first-rate. He wrote with the eye of a journalist, keenly aware of the details and vanity of his rival hunters in their quest for the big game of Africa. With his accurate descriptions of the terrain and the caravan of porters, he makes one feel a part of the procession as the various hunts unfold. I have always liked Hemingway when he is at his clean, non-melodramatic best.

He chanted with the others: "Crustpelt! Fillingclaw! Crustpelt! Fillingclaw!" Was it really that long since he had been up there, earning his new name?

    Memorypaw

"C-cloudstar?" the black and white shecat meowed in a shaky voice, padding into the leader's den and looking around for her mentor. Her icy blue eyes were filled with worry, and a single tear fell down her cheek. "There's... something I need to tell you. I've done something horrible," the dark apprentice said sadly. -Memorypaw
