Love this book. I'm a big fan of the first game. This book really helps cover the lore and characters from the forthcoming game Guild Wars 2. Even if you don't plan on playing Guild Wars 2, this book is a great read.

I was excited to read Edge of Destiny. It started out great, but as the events kept coming, the story moved so quickly through them, that I felt like I was in a race without any choice in the matter. Every foe and other encounter was dealt with much too quickly for such events. I would recommend reading it to get an insider look at the races of Guild Wars 2, and I loved the characters themselves, but the pace was too quick, in my opinion.

How to say this delicately? This book doesn't deserve the three stars I
gave it. I love everything Guild Wars, and I enjoyed this book immensely
because it was set in the Guild Wars universe. That said... the
writing is terrible. I'm not a great writer myself, and I usually don't
mind reading trashy fantasy novels - I'm not necessarily looking for
every fantasy book I read to be the Lord of the Rings or the Wheel of
Time; but this book reads like a 14-year old kid's first stab at
fan-fiction. The dialogue and narration are painfully simple. It made me
cringe... a lot. The bottom line is... skip this book unless if you're
a Guild Wars nut to begin with.
