NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
I expected this book to focus on the hacking aspect of the plot; however, it was largely focused on relationships and "becoming your own person". While the characters were well developed, the plot was not great. Being a young teen, I would not recommend this book to kids my age. To teens who are about to buy this book, I would skip it. It was not the intriguing book I expected.

Amazing Book!
This book was amazing! I got it originally as another book that I would just go through and that would be it, but that was certainly not the case with this book. I loved how dynamic all of the characters were. Overall my favorite character was Schwartz. I thought it was so funny how he was such a calm, and understanding character in the beginning, but then towards the end he flips out on everyone, stands his ground, and gets respected for it. The only thing I didn't like was how Lexi's side of the story ended. I felt that it was a little bland and unoriginal. I hope those of you who buy this book feel the same way that I do about it

One word: "BEST"
This is the first teen novel that I have understood as a whole - from the chracters to the plot and even to the stupendous situations. It could be because I am also dreaming to enter Harvard and I am in line with the characters' generation and thinking.

My favorite character is Schwarz because he is balancing the situations between his two friends that usually collide with each other's opinions. He is the genius and at the same time the guy who is not just good in math but a good friend in the most inevitable and most unconditional way.
I could say Eric was really "the voice of reason" because he is somewhat guilty for what his friends are doing. He was pressured even more when he met and fell in love with Lex. I admire his plans in every endeavor their group was facing. He just loved his father who is in Harvard and he is afraid to destroy his father's reputation by hacking the school.
As for Max, he could be the most irritating character but I fully understood him because he is the 30 percent of who I am - pressured and wanted to prove something. He takes risks too much and with his confidence, he achieves it. He was pressured because of his family but in the end, that invitation of Bill gates in his company made him more successful than his Harvard Alumni family.
Alexandra Talese is the narrator of almost 60% of the novel but she keeps on saying only about her studies and her relationship about Eric. I also understood her pressure on her candidacy for valedictorian where in the end, she only made it to salutatorian and not to mention her refusal to Harvard. Her last words in the novel were the things that made one of my dreams set into another view - a better view.
She quoted that she could still be happy because her decisions are making her life more balanced. She went to Brown University and she was glad in her experience that she knew Harvard would never ever give her. She made her last words in the novel where she told me (as a reader) about giving up a dream to achieve a better one. In Hacking Harvard, Lex said "I regret this story wasn't mine to tell. You can be sure the next one will be."
Hacking Harvard as a book was one of the best book choices I have made. It is a story that moves young people with dreams to prepare in failure and regrets. The book told me to be prepared for that because in the end, there is always a better thing for us. -

Amanda, a hopeful reader
I know so many people, including myself whom have read many great books over their lifetime. Although my lifetime is shorter than most 'book addicts', due to the fact that I just turned 14, I am hopeful for a great find! This reminded me of a movie I watched 'back in the day' :P and I bought it just for curiosity...I hope it will be better than the grade its getting now!~Peace and Love

Mixed Feelings
This is one of my new favorite books. It had a very interesting plot, colorful characters, a lesson to be learned in the end, and humor throughout. However, when I was about three-fourths done with it, I felt like I was still in the same place. The same things were going on, and I didn't feel much had happened. I still felt like I was getting to know the characters. It was a really good book, though, and I highly recommend it to all high schoolers.

Hacking Harvard has everything: humor, romance, plot line, suspence, and I couldn't put it down! When I first picked it up, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but it was exceptional!

Really, original. I thought it was a good read and preferred it to a lot of other books, like those stupid Clique, Gossip Girl, It Girls, and other wasteful resources. Read this book!

A little disappointing
This book looked like one of those book you think is going to be good, but turns out you were wrong. I had high expectations for this book. I'm not saying the book is bad, its just not very good. It overly too obsessed with Harvard. so all in all i wouldn't really recommend this book unless you have some time to kill.
