BEST BOOK EVER, Read it! Seriously!
This book was absolutely amazing! It was so moving and really changed my perspective on things. The style of writing was very colloquial so it made me feel more personally connected to Ronan. i almost felt like I was going through the hardships with him.

A wonderful book--I absolutely loved it
In a truly outstanding autobiography, the presentation of the material to the reader is every bit as important to the overall success of the work as the content itself, and after reading Dr. Tynan¿s ¿Halfway Home: My Life `til Now¿, I think Ronan had done a superb job at this. The book is clear and efficiently organized, with a wonderful photograph section in the middle. It starts with a prologue where Ronan introduces himself with one of the exciting events in his ever so colorful life. The following 23 chapters depict a truly amazing story of a courageous person whom millions of fans in countries around the world know and love. His ambition to succeed and perseverance are truly admirable, unbroken by his disposition, and you¿ll find yourself rooting for Ronan all throughout the book. Along with his other talents, Ronan is obviously a creative writer, as his book maintains a warm and friendly tone, and, in my opinion, is on the par with first person novels in style, language, event description and being able to relate to the reader. Without ever rambling on or being overly dramatic, this story will make you happy, sad, wistful, and inspired over and over again. Interest is another level where ¿Halfway Home¿ has a lot to offer. Rather than only focusing on expounding its theme, pursuing your goals and dreams no matter what kind of expectations the world sets on you due to your disposition, the book is also about so many subjects, like horseback riding, singing, athletics and pursuing a medical degree, in all of which Ronan made significant achievements during his life. Overall, it's very well-written, balanced, and organized, and is one of the best books I¿ve ever read. It¿s interesting and fun, but so inspirational at the same time. It has several touching parts, like Ronan dedicating his solo CD to his father and making a tribute to three firemen who died in the line of duty. So, on the ending note, whether you¿re an Irish Tenors fan or not, ¿Halfway Home: My Life `til Now¿ by Dr. Ronan Tynan is certainly worth reading, or as lots of current owners found out, reading over.

Five Stars Times a Trillion
Dr. Tynan is a man of incredible abilities who has overcome tremendous disabilities and still loves life! He presents his story without false modesty and without selfpity but with enormous faith and hope and belief in the power of love. He is much to be admired and emulated. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.

The inspiring story of a singer, doctor, athlete, horseman....who's only 'Halfway Home'
'Halfway Home: My Life 'Til Now' is an incredible book written by an incredible man. It's written in such a way that you feel that Ronan's right in the room talking to you. What he has done thus far in his life will amaze you! You'll laugh, cry, and be inspired, by this incredible book by a man who's only Halfway Home! Here is my book review (done a little differently, in rhyme): An awesome book that's written in Ronan's inimitable way, His writing comes straight from the heart No ghost writer was paid! He expresses all his feelings of joy and pain and sorrow, Seldom giving in to pity, but looking to tomorrow. Ronan was born into this world deformed below the knees, The priest told Mam 'He'll make you proud,' 'With those lungs, he'll surely sing!' Mam's greatest trait, her iron will, imparted to her son And yet, in Ronan, that's tempered with, his father's wit and fun. Accidents and errant horse rides, things done with reckless abandon! A good thing Mam didn't always know, and Dad was understanding! Fiona was a helpmate, A blessing to be sure, While Tom required a little more time, to form a bond, now pure. Braces helped this child to walk, painful though it was, But still a horseman he became, winning honors and awards. The braces could not last forever, There would come a time, When amputation was the answer, to spasms that paralyzed. And Ronan forged ahead through trials of a double-amputee, To win at the Paralympics, Setting records, he felt so free! With that same determined spirit, there was more his mind conceived! Becoming a medical doctor, was the next goal he achieved! Meanwhile, this young man learned to sing, with a voice that's strong and pure, He realized his life's next goal, was to sing for venues full! The first step came when he won first prize (his Mam and Dad were proud!), in the 'Go For It' competition, 'Return to Sorrento' stunned the crowd! And having sung across this world, He joined a special trio, The Irish Tenors, as they're known, have world-wide appeal! So no matter what the obstacle, Seems he always overcomes, With sheer determination, What an example he's become! And now his life seems blessed and full, There's so much that he's done, But we must remember who this is.... And he's only 'Halfway Home'!

a story worth sharing
Ronan Tynan's life story is one of hardship and perseverance, luck , talent and the loving support of his family. He relates this in a straight forward manner which is easy to read and to visualize. He will have you alternately in tears and holding your sides with laughter. His wonderful sense of humor comes across in every sentence. You can feel in this text his positive attitude toward life and the courage and determination with which he has faced his challenges. Ronan has accomplished many things in his life; record setting athlete, medical doctor and world famous singer. He certainly would leave the Energizer Bunny in his dust! I enjoyed seeing the pictures of Ronan and his family and friends included in the center of the book. Ronan is the type of person for whom there are no strangers, only friends he has not met. His journey is only halfway done. I'm sure the days and years to come will provide him with many other stories to share with us in the future. I can unconditionally recommend this book to you.

Tenor Hits the High Notes
This beautiful and touching memoir is not just for music fans of this larger-than-life tenor, but for all of us who face challenges in our daily lives. Ronan so honestly and simply tells the story of his life to date, that you will live through the good times and the bad times with him. You will laugh, cheer, cry and then repeat the cycle. In addition to being a wonderful singer, a doctor, a world-class athlete and an incredible and kind human being, Ronan now adds ¿writer¿ to his list of accomplishments. His writing style is so natural and easy to read, that you feel that he is at your shoulder reading the book aloud to you¿I could almost hear his voice. His portrayal of the people in his life is very effective. They jump off the page at you as the real people that they are, particularly his beloved father, who now owns a piece of my heart. If you feel in need of inspiration to face any challenges that you may be facing¿this is the book to reach for.

We may have great men, but we'll never have better
Well-written and truly amazing story. I am glad that he has survived to inspire and make us all laugh and cry. He has set just the right mood in his new biography. Truly an inspirational look at an incredible man. All parents of children with disabilities should read this story. Ronan is truly a remarkable individual.
