Too bad there is no rating category called "stupid"
This rates right up there with the "shopaholic" series for stupidity. I couldn't get past the first chapter.

I loved the title of the book. I enjoy fashion and so I thought a book with this title would be something I would enjoy.
I oved the characters.I found the characters to be original and fun. Their personalities came through well. I also liked the plot. It was fun to read and kept my interest. I hope this author continues to write more books in this series. I will continue to read them.

Loved it ! Loved it!
Am always surprised when I enjoy a book targeted to a thirty-something audience, since I am well beyond. Haley Randolph is thoroughly believable and I liked her. The book is well written and the story moves along at a good clip. Truly worth adding to that summer reading list. Can't wait for the sequel since it would be just plain mean not to have one!

a fun chick lit amateur sleuth tal
To fund her obscene addiction, Haley Randolph has gone into deep credit card debt if she never eats, drinks, puts gas in her car, or shop she figures she could pay off her debt in about three lifetimes. However, Haley knows herself too well she can do without food or liquid or even gas in Los Angeles, but being a ¿crazed, obsessive, handbag whore¿ means she cannot stop herself from buying designer bags.------------- Adding to her woes the accountant is fired from a LA law firm because of evidence of her embezzling funds surfaced. She obtains work during Christmas at Holt's Department Store where she meets the owner Ty Cameron. However, soon afterward, someone murders the store¿s detested assistant manager, Richard, whose nickame on the floor was obvious. The police suspect Haley as she found the corpse. She vows not to take the hit again as she did when she lost her accounting position she investigates seeking the real killer while debating whether sex with her boss would be tied to her keeping her job as she would never use her body to stay emplyed but wants Ty to use her body.------------ Haley¿s amusing asides make for a fun chick lit amateur sleuth tale as she investigates the homicide. Haley the sleuth is a bumbler while Haley the person is a dolt even when she fumbles on high heels from one clue to aniother, . Fans will enjoy a combo Inspector Clouseau-Stephanie Plum starring as Ellie Woods of Legally Blonde.--------------- Harriet Klasusner

Slow start, but very good
I had troube at first getting into this, but at around the 3rd chapter it all fell into place and became interesting. I particularly enjoyed Haley's very quirky views on everything!

highly recommended a must read!
OMG, this is soooo funny, the things Haley does are absolutely hillarious. I wish I would of thought of this stuff when I was in retail. It is a must read. I just hope that the series is going to be a long one.

For the Entitlement Generation
Having been raised on a healthy dose of Nancy Drew 45 years ago, I have long been a fan of mysteries, detective stories, and strong female characters. I also love cozy mysteries, so when I saw this series, with the handbag theme, I bought it right away. I was expecting, of course, that the main character would be another V.I. Warshawski or Kinsey Millhone, or at the very least, Theodosia Browning---full of initiative and drive, someone who was making her mark in the world through hard work and perseverance. Instead I meet Haley Randolph, a spoiled little rich girl who feels she is entitled to expensive designer handbags just because. She has no work ethic, she sneers at the common working woman, she amasses huge credit card debt, and she thinks the world owes her something. After working in my same career for over 35 years I finally feel I can afford a few Coach or Michael Kors bags, yet I still feel I would be throwing money away on some of the designers that Haley thinks she deserves without earning them. So if you are anything but a self-centered 24 year old, the only appeal of this book will be reading to the end to find out who the real murderer is. That aspect of the book, a plot that keeps you wondering, is at least something that the author seems to have crafted well. But the main character left me sorely disappointed.
