A strong unforgettable female character

A real page turner. Once you get into the rhythm of the backwoods dialect..the pages just fly by. Good characterization of Hannah and Tice. A definite read for anyone who likes to read about the frontier.

EXCELLENT!

While reading this book I didn't want it to end. Having grandparents who lived in KY.in the mid 1800s I could visualize their hard life. Highly recommend it.
