Sad and touching but rewarding to read

She doesn't demonize the man who left her and their sons. She just tells it like she experienced it. Honest and beautiful.

I heard an interview on NPR and thought this would be a good read. After the first few pages I realized the writer had no skills coordinating thoughts, some paragraphs were over a page long! She begins with a brief history of her impressive family which fails to bear any relavence on her current situation. She flip flops all over the place after that. Her style shows potential for a writer, her editor/advisor did her no justice assisting in idea organization.

    A little boring

I was drawn to this book as I also went through a divorce where my husband had an affair and left me for another woman. I also was like her in the fact that I didn't want to let go of my husband and just couldn't believe that he was willing to throw a life together away for another woman. But the story was a little boring even though I could relate to her feelings and what she went through. I will read books again if I really enjoy them. This one I would not read again or recommend.

It does Happen all the time

The book was ok, a little boring but an easy read. There was nothing surprising or earth shattering about this book, she was typical of many women, delusional. When she meet her husband he was married, so why would any of this be a shock to her. Honestly, I found her annoying and pathetic. She knew all along her husband was having an affair and would be leaving her. How could she have been shocked when her friends told her they where a couple? It's just so stupid, though I felt bad for her, I couldn't help but be annoyed by her weakness. You'd think women would read her story and learn something, the "warning signs", like he left his first wife for you! Probably not, so yes, sadly it will happen every day. I found nothing inspiring, poignant, nor all that well written in this book. It was an easy read that could probably be told in an issue of Ladies Home Journal.
