Harbinger wars marks Valiant’s first attempt at a crossover, bringing together Bloodshot and Harbinger (this mini-universe crossover would later be matched with Armor Hunters). While you can read each of the books independently, reading this TPB gives you further insight into what is happening. Technically, this is also the introduction of HARD Corp, although they mostly appear in the Bloodshot title later.

The Harbinger Wars TPB includes the story line from both Bloodshot and Harbinger, and really brings the intersection of those together. Rather than focusing on Harbinger characters or Bloodshot characters, the books highlights the Generation Zero kids (additional super power psiots, including Animalia, who later appears in the Harbinger series) and the Bleeding Mink. We see some nice scenes between HARD Corp, Generation Zero, PRS, Bloodshot, the Harbinger kids, and Harada.

The art is good, and the story writing continues to excel (just what I expect from Mr. Dysart). One thing I like about Valiant is they include a quick summary on the interior of the front cover to give you a quick update. This crossover actually had some pretty strong implications for the Valiant Universe, and so I recommend that everyone interested in the comics read this – you will enjoy it, and it will help explain some of the things happening in some of the other comic books.
